Pixel Dust private beta
The first release of Pixel Dust. It remembers what was on your screen so you can find it again later — and it all happens on your Mac.
What you can do
- Pixel Dust runs quietly in the background and keeps a record of what you saw, adjusting itself to stay light on your Mac.
- It reads the text on your screen and makes it searchable — all on your Mac, with nothing sent anywhere.
- Your history is stored encrypted on your Mac, so only you can open it.
- Find anything with ⌘⇧Space: search the exact words you remember, or just describe what you were looking at.
- Ask a question in plain English and get an answer drawn from your own history, not the web.
- Decide what's off limits — skip whole apps or individual windows, hide sensitive words, and delete the last few minutes or everything at once.
- Pause any time from the menu bar. One click and Pixel Dust stops watching.
Refinements
- Clearer alerts when macOS turns off a permission Pixel Dust needs, so capture never stops without you knowing.
- A refreshed walkthrough for your first few minutes with the app.
Coming next
- Managed AI answers — opt-in, with a clear disclosure before anything leaves your Mac.
- Bring your own AI provider and key.
- A companion app for iPhone and iPad.
- Pixel Dust on the App Store and Setapp.
